Our Monograms
Ring Bearer Pillow
This is my first attempt at a do it yourself project, our ring pillow. Our ring bearer is too young to carry our real rings so he is carrying this pillow that has two fake rings glued behind the bow. I sewed the pillow and one of my MOHs stuffed it for me.
Letters for Cake Table
I painted some wooden letters I found at Hobby Lobby. I used some acrylic paint in the color "Jamaicain Sea" which is very close to our seafoam green wedding color. This was an easy project and I think it will dress up the cake table since most of our cake will be white and the table will be covered with a white table linen.
Flower Girl Basket
I covered a wooden basket I got from Hobby Lobby for about $3 with the leftover ivory satin from the ring pillow. I used the same double faced satin aqua ribbon to tie to each side to cover the seams. I haven't quite decided if I will really use this or buy another one, I'm not sure if it looks presentable or not. Either way, it was still DIY.
Bridesmaids Jewelry
Bridesmaids Tote Bags
Okay, so I never intended to do this project until I was waltzing through Hobby Lobby and came across a pack of canvas bags four to a pack for $5.99. Instantly, this idea came to me. I also purchased some stitched monograms with each of my bridesmaids initials from the next aisle over. I purchased some grosgrain ribbon in our color from Michaels and used my sewing machine to stitch the ribbon about an inch down from the top of the bag. Then I simply ironed on the monogram about midway the bag. Now, lesson learned, when ironing on the monogram, DO NOT allow the iron to touch the straps of the tote bag, this will melt the straps to your iron. I would know, I did that, that's okay I cut the straps off the that bag and trust me, it will be used again....most likely for the flower girl.
Unity Candle
Originally, I was just going to use my cousin's unity candle set from her wedding. But after some thought, I decided to make a personalized one for us to use. I printed our monogram, along with the verse from Mark 10:7-8, centering the text in the middle of the sheet. I wrapped the vellum paper around my candle to measure where I wanted to trim it down along the top and the back. Sorry, I didn't record those measurements, I just kind of eyeballed it and then discarded my scraps. Once the paper was cut to size, I used and glue gun and glued the back of ends of the paper to the candle. (Note: If you are using a pearlized candle from Hobby Lobby, like I did, make sure that where you glue it is where you want to keep it. Otherwise if you have to move the paper, the glue pulls the pearl coating off the candle.) Then I attached sheer aqua ribbon above and below the vellum to finish it off. I also attached the same ribbon around the thinner candles to dress them up a bit.
Flower Girl Purse
As you may recall, I ruined the straps of one of the tote bags by melting it to my iron. Since I had already sewn the ribbon on there, I was determined to reuse the bag, so I decided to make a little purse for my flower girl out of it. I was going to do something else for her gift, but this seemed like a better idea. I purchased some wooden handles from Hobby Lobby and hand stitched the handles to each side of the bag. I also got an iron on monogram patch for her bag. Honestly, I think her little bag ended up coming out better than the others,. But it was a challenge to attach those wooden handles and I'm not doing that for eight other bags, so this will just have to be it.
Day of Timelines
I created timelines for our wedding day. There is a separate timeline for ladies and gentlemen. The reason for this is because ladies will have more to do and will most likely be on a stricter schedule. Plus, I didn't want to overwhelm the guys with details. But I would like them to know where to go and at what time of the day.
The timelines are two separate word documents, but for the purposes of posting it here, I put the documents together.

Coloring Books for ChildrenWe want the children that attend our wedding and reception to feel special and not be bored. So, I got the idea of creating a coloring book from a couple of other Knotties, but I don't have access to Photoshop to turn our pictures into coloring books. Instead I used Microsoft Word and just did a google and clip art searches for images without color, some of the graphics came specifically from sites for coloring books, others did not. I also transformed some of the colored clip art images to black and white images. I plan on purchasing little crayon boxes as the RSVPs come in and I know how many children will actually be attending the wedding.

Memorial
This is our memorial to those who have passed away that would have loved to share this day in person with us. I've seen other poems, but I wanted to write something myself from the heart for our loved ones. The poem reads: "Although your chair is empty, and we're physically apart. We saved a special place for you, in our memory and our hearts. We know you are looking down on us, and celebrating with us in a special way. Sending your love to fill the room, as we enjoy this blessed day." It is hard to read in the picture, but the picture shows the setup. We will have the framed poem with a little decorated chair in front of it. I bought a dollhouse sized wooden chair from Hobby Lobby and spray painted it and used some left over ribbon to dress it up.
Thank You Cards
This the template for the "Thank You" cards. We have included our monogram on the back of the card. It will be printed on ivory linen paper and we will hand write all of the thank you cards to our guests. That will be a feat...pray for us. If we have an image from our wedding, we will try to include a wallet sized picture for family members and special guests, not everyone will want that.
Monogram Etched Toasting Glasses
This is a project Gerald and I worked on together. We used Old English stencils we purchased from Michael's and Armour Etch. As the process went on, we realized that it looked better the longer we left the etching cream on the glasses, but you live and learn. All in all, the glasses look pretty good and we had fun. Now Gerald wants to etch all glass and mirrors just for fun. :)
Invitations
The invitation panel was created in PowerPoint. I used Feel Script font. In the final version, we reduced the font size a little and increased the spacing to make the invitation more reader friendly. The pocketfolds were made with 12 x 12 black textured cardstock (Hobby Lobby). The invitation panel and inserts were made using ivory textured 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock.
Monogram Banner
This was an impromptu project. I saw one at a bridal show and thought it would be fairly easy and fun. I uploaded our monogram to www.blockposters.com and selected the sheet width and length. I decided to make my banner 5 sheets wide by 4 sheets tall for a total of 20 sheets. I taped the sheets together and placed the satin fabric over the guide. I did not have any problems seeing the image through the fabric. I drew it in pencil (I would say that this step is optional). If you decide to trace in pencil, do so lightly. The image to the left below is the design all traced out in pencil. Then I painted the image with acrylic paint. Be sure to have something like cardboard or plastic drop cloth under the fabric when you start painting because the paint will most likely bleed through the backof the fabric.
